We are a small group run by volunteers who arrange short walks in Skipton, along the canal and in Yorkshire Dales. We usually meet on Mondays in Skipton at 1.45pm at the Canal Basin, Coach Street for a 2pm start. We take short walks around the town and usually meet for a chat over coffee afterwards. We aim to have longer walks, each fortnight, into the Dales using public transport or the community bus. Places we have recently visited are Bolton Abbey, Grassington, Malham and Hebden.
All ages (adults) and most abilities are catered for: we offer three grades of walks for "Stollers", "Striders" or "Leg-stretchers. Some walks may be arranged for wheelchair users upon request. So, if you want to improve your health and wellbeing and meet friendly, like-minded people, come and join us.
Our booklet "24 Walks for Health in Skipton" includes routes suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. It is supported by Craven Discrict Council and was published with grants from Skipton Rotary, Skipton Town Council and the Temperance Hall Fund. Please contact us by phone or email for more details.
