never knew Santa had Mickey mouse ears
We currently provide morning walks on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays as well as Thursday afternoon walks. These walks are all led by qualified volunteer Walk Leaders, who are trained first-aiders. You can download a copy of our timetable from the column on the right.
For details of walk routes you can do on your own, see column on right.
Our walks
The Walking for Health programme in North Lincolnshire is in its sixth year and proving more successful than ever. Led walks are regularly being held around North Lincolnshire and are very popular. There are often between 30 and 60 people attending the walks, all of whom have a different reason to be there. None of our walks are over 3 miles and they take place whatever the weather!
Many of the people who take part do so, not only to improve their health, but also to improve their social life! Its a great way to meet other people and make new friends.
Tuesday walks One Tuesday morning walk is led by the Heart to Heart group and, although originally set up to rehabilitate individuals with heart problems, it is now open to the public and extremely well attended. These walks take place every other Tuesday.
The other Tuesday walk (Walk 4 All ) is open to everyone. Sometimes it is possible to run a short walk for those new to walking. Please call first to check if a short walk is running.
Wednesday evening walks, will recommence May 2010 to August 2010
Thursday walks The Thursday morning walks take place all over the region and are popular with many walkers of all ages.
The Thursday afternoon walks aim to attract those people living in the centre of Scunthorpe without transport or who don't want to drive out to a walk. They are lovely walks which take you off the beaten track to places you may have forgotton or never knew existed.
Thursday evening- Ladies walk New evening walk for ladies in Barton upon Humber starts 6pm from the lower car park at Baysgarth Leisure centre, Barton.
Friday walks On Friday mornings the walks are held at Normanby Hall Country Park and are an ideal starting point for new walkers and those not able to walk long distances. Here we are able to hold three walks for differing abilities, great for those unsure of their capabilities.
Short walks of up to 1 mile are commencing in Scunthorpe on Tuesday 6th July 2010. Fortnightly, starting at Central Park Car Park, Kingsway, Scunthorpe, at 11am.
