CREW an acronym for Cardiac Rehabilitation through Exercise and Walking was established in 2000 in Halifax. Since then the group has expanded to Brighouse and Todmorden.
CREW is a voluntary organisation affiliated to the BHF (British Heart Foundation) and runs exercise classes, weight loss classes, Thai Chi classes and walks for people at risk of or have had a cardiac event.
CREW has over 450 members.
CREW has 10 trained Walk Leaders. The exercise classes are run with UPBEAT who provide the trainers.
Our walks
Brighouse runs Health Walks every second Saturday, See the attached Newsletter for the latest walks programme.
In conjuction withn Todmorden Walkabout we have a Health Walk every alternate Monday in Todmorden. See attached "Todmorden Walks" document
All new walkers must sign a health declaration for insurance purposes. If you have any doubts about your ability to walk consult your doctor.
Grade 2 walks are held every second Tuesday by Halifax and the alternate Saturdays and Tuesday by Brighouse. Details of these walks are also attached as Word documents.
In conjunction withTodmorden Walkabout we can offer walks every alternate Sunday in Todmorden.
