We provide free organised walks around Waverley to help you be more active.
Our weekly health walks give you the opportunity to take regular exercise, enjoy your local environment and meet new people. They are led by trained volunteers who walk at the front and back of the group so that everyone can go at their own pace. Designed to improve your health, our walks offer a safe and secure environment in which to walk with friendly and welcoming company.
All you need to do is turn up in comfortable shoes and enjoy the walk!
Our walks
Godalming Walks Join our walks every Thursday at 11 am, meeting beside the River Wey, opposite the entrance to the Council office's car park. Walks are normally about 2 miles long, except on the first Thursday of each month, when a longer walk is offered, with a stop at a pub for lunch. New walkers are advised to try a short walk first.
Cranleigh Walks Join our walks held every Wednesday and Saturday, starting at 11 am. Both sets of walks meet at the entrance to the Cranleigh Leisure Centre. Walks are between 2 and 4 miles long, and take from 40 - 90 minutes. New walkers are advised to try a short walk first.
Haslemere Walks Walks take place three days per week. On Tuesdays (at 2.30 pm) and Saturdays ( at 11 am), we meet at the Haslewey Community Centre in Haslemere, and on Thursdays (at 1.00 pm), we meet at High Lane Community Centre. All walks are about 2 miles long and take between 40 and 60 minutes. We also arrange occasional longer walks, like our picnic walks in the Devils' Punchbowl, in nearby Hindhead. For more details, see the separate entry for Haslemere Walks for Health.
Farnham Walks Walks start every Tuesday at 10.30 am, leaving from the Brightwell's Gostrey Centre in Dogflud Lane, Farnham. Walks take in the riverside and the lower parts of Farnham Park, as well as the urban areas of this attractive town. Each week, we offer two walks, the standard walks are approximately 2 miles long and take 40 - 60 minutes, or alternatively join us on a shorter slower walk which lasts about 60 minutes. On the last Tuesday of each month, a longer faster walk is also offered, designed to challenge the fitter walkers who can walk further and faster. Afterwards, join us for a cup of tea or coffee (for which a charge is made), or on the last Tuesday of each month, join us for our increasingly popular lunch at the Gostrey Centre.
Events
On the first Thursday of each month, Godalming Walks for Health substitutes its shorter walks with a longer 5 - 8 mile walk, including lunch at a local pub. Details can be found on our website.
