Healthy Stepping’ is part of the national Walking for Health programme (WfH).
A Health Walk is a short brisk walk lasting for between 30minutes to 1 hour.
Health Walks are not only good for your physical health but also beneficial both mentally and socially.
Our walks
BROOKFIELD & KADER
Register 9.30 - 9.45am at St Clare’s Church, 102 Low Lane, Middlesbrough, TS5 8EB on Tuesdays or Wednesdays – ring 01642 821846 for more details
2 to 3 miles local strolls every other Wednesday (approx 1 hour) around Brookfield, Kader, Acklam, Hemlington and Stainton.
4 to 5 miles countryside walks (car share) alternate Tuesdays and Wednesdays (approx 2-3 hours).
COULBY NEWHAM (LANGDON SQUARE)
Walks start at 10.30am every Thursday from Langdon Square Community Centre, Langdon Square, Coulby Newham, TS8 0TF
A mixture of mainly flat circular walks around Coulby Newham, Lingfield, Hemlington Lake and Fairy Dell.
Each walk lasts approximately 1 hour.
Car-sharing ‘away days’ are organised once a month.
Refreshments are available afterwards for a small charge
COULBY NEWHAM (RAINBOW LEISURE CENTRE)
Walks start at 10.30am every Tuesday from near entrance to Rainbow Leisure Centre, Parkway Centre, Coulby Newham, TS8 0TJ
A mixture of mainly flat circular walks around Coulby Newham, Lingfield and Fairy Dell.
Each walk lasts approximately 1 hour.
Car-sharing ‘away days’ are organised once a month.
Refreshments are available afterwards at cafe
HEMLINGTON
Walks start at 10.30am every Monday and Wednesday from Hemlington Recreation Centre, Cass House Road, Hemlington, TS8 9QW.
A mixture of mainly flat circular walks around Hemlington, Hemlington Lake, Stainton, Brookfield and Coulby Newham.
Walks lasts approximately 1 hour.
Car-sharing ‘away days’ are organised once a month.
Refreshments are available after walks for a small charge

Walks start at 12.30pm at the Life Store (opposite Bon Marche), 10-12 Centre Mall, The Mall, Cleveland Centre, Middlesbrough TS1 2NR
Local flat, circular walks to Middlehaven, Riverside Stadium, Transporter Bridge, Gresham, Longlands, North Ormesby and Albert Park
Walks last approximately 45mins – 1 hour.
MIDDLESBROUGH TOWN CENTRE
Walks start at 12.15 every Wednesday at the ‘Bottle of Notes’ opposite MIMA Art Gallery
Local flat, circular walks to Middlehaven, Riverside Stadium, Transporter Bridge, Gresham, Longlands, North Ormesby and Albert Park
Walks last approximately 45mins (Albert Park – 1 hour)
MIDDLESBROUGH U3A GROUP
Register 2nd and 4th Thursday each month at 9.30am at Nature’s World, Ladgate Lane, Acklam, Middlesbrough TS5 7YN.
2 to 4 miles local strolls/walks (approx 1-1½ hours)
4 to 5 miles countryside walks (car share) (approx 2-3 hours)
NORTH ORMESBY
Walks start at 10.00am every Tuesday from the seat near the traffic lights opposite North Ormesby Market Place.
A mixture of mainly flat, circular walks around North Ormesby, Riverside Stadium, Middlehaven, Transporter Bridge, Albert Park and Pallister Park.
Each walk lasts approximately 1 hour.
Car-sharing ‘away days’ are organised once a month.
WEST MIDDLESBROUGH
