Gateshead Health Walks - North East

Last updated 17 April 2009

Our walks

Health Walks Gateshead has made route maps for 20 walks across the borough. These are published in 2 packs. The packs are available free of charge from Gateshead Council. All walks are between 2 and 3 miles long and on footpaths or good surfaces. All walks can be easily accessed by public transport.

The scheme also offers led walks with qualified volunteer leaders. Walks are in urban locations on footpaths and tracks. A high proportion are wheelchair accessible. All are easily accessed on public transport. Many pass some of Gateshead's landmarks and points of interest. See local press for details. A programme of walks is available on request. Walks take place at least every week.

Health Walks Gateshead is also offering workplace walks, and a service to day and residential care centres.
