Darlington Doorstep Walks is a scheme offering a variety of short health walks for all abilities.  The walks are based in Darlington and the surrounding area.

Our walks

Middleton st George Walks - walks are individually assessed dependent upon walkers' abilities. All walks begin at 1:30pm, starting points listed below:

23rd June - Fighting Cocks Pub

30th June Devonport Hotel

7th July - Fighting Cocks Pub

14th July - Fighting Cocks Pub

21st July - Devonport Hotel

28th July - Fighting Cocks Pub

Darlington One Life Health Walks (GP Referral Scheme) every Thursday 10am start at The Dolphin Centre Reception.  Dolphin Centre, 52 Horse Market, Darlington, DL1 5RP

Age Concern Walks take place every second Monday of the month, starting from a wide variety of places around Darlington.  For more information contact Rachael Pringle on 01325 254370 or Age Concern on 01325 362832                                                                              

Lakeside Lodge Walks (1 hour) every Tuesday 1:15pm start around South Park, meet at Lakeside Lodge. These walks are for people with Learning Disabilities, however they are open to the community. Prambles Walks Mount Pleasant Children's Centre Parents and pushchair walks are every Friday 1:30pm meet. Walks will last 1 hour. Mount Pleasant Children's Centre, Newton Lane, Darlington, DL3 9HE

McNay Street Children's Centre Parents and pushchair walks are every Tuesday 10:30am meet. Walks will last 1 hour. McNay Street Children's Centre, 2a McNay Street, Darlington, DL3 6SW

Women out Walking, this walking group is 40+ and for women only. Walk meets fortnightly, for more information contact Rachael Pringle on 01325 254370

Want to burn more Calories? Try something new? Nordic Walking burns up to 47% more calories than normal walking by use of the Nordic Walking Poles. These poles incorporate the upper body muscles to give you more of a full body workout! 

Darlington Sports Development are running a 6 week programme of Nordic Walking sessions, these will last 1 hour and will cost £2 per person, see below for sessions times:

Tuesday 25th May -Tuesday 29th June - 5:30pm - 6:30pm.  Meet Clock Tower, South Park

Friday 28th May - Friday 1st July -10am - 11am.  Meet Arts Centre Reception

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and Booking is essential.
