A weekly 'Healthy Walk' through Wandlebury Country Park led by Cambridge Past Present & Future volunteers, with the support from the Rangers. Enjoy the changing seasons, in this lovely Country Park on the gentle chalk Gog Magog Hills just to the south of Cambridge - woodland, meadows with sheep and Highland cattle grazing and the Wandlebury Ring Iron Age site. The programme is supported by South Cambridgeshire District Council.
Our walks
The walks take place every Thursday morning, please arrive at 09:50am to register for the extended walk (approx. 60 minutes) which starts at 10:00am prompt, or arrive at 10:15am to register for the 30 minute walk which starts at 10:30am. Meet at Wandlebury Stable Rooms (follow the signs from the Visitor Car Park). Wandlebury Country Park is on the A1307, Cambridge to Haverhill road, 2.5 miles south of the Addenbrooke's roundabout. Regularly serviced by bus routes X13 between Cambridge and Haverhill.
The walks are suitable for anyone who is interested in walking or who wants to adopt a healthier lifestyle. All ages and abilities are welcome and there is time afterwards to relax with a cup of tea or coffee.
The walks are free of charge, but there is a £2 parking charge towards the management of the Country Park (free for members of Cambridge Past Present & Future. Walkers are advised to bring a bottle of water to sip during the walks, to wear suitable footwear and to dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
There is no need to book, just turn up on the day. Participants will be required to complete a medical questionnaire before the start of their first walk.
Events
We have just celebrated Christmas with our special Barbecue which was enjoyed by all our walkers after the two walks on 17th December. Everyone enjoyed the festive food and left full of cheer.
