Derwent Trekkers - East Midlands

Derwent Trekkkers in Chaddesden Wood.

We are an informal group walking between 1.5 and 2.5 miles which takes about an hour.

We meet on Thursdays in the Revive reception area at 9:45am to complete formalities before departure on the bus at 10am.

Everyone is welcome. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. You will be required to complete an "Outdoor Health Questionnaire" in line with Natural England who provide our insurance. Our volunteer walk leaders are trained by Walking for Health trainers.

Our walks

Some of our walkers have medical conditions which restrict them from walking with more active groups. Most of our walks are on bridleways and cycle/walkways with only slight hills and no stiles.

We use a bus to transport us to the start of a walk and to pick us up again. This enables us to do point to point walks with different starting and ending points. A charge of £3 per person is made to cover the cost of the bus. Refreshments are paid for by each walker and are taken at a suitable location en route or at the end.

Occasionally a walk may need to be changed without notice due to unexpected circumstances. In extreme weather conditions you would need to check with Revive tel. 288700 to find out whether the walk has been cancelled.
